Position: Equity and Fixed Income Analyst

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Providing analytical and support services primarily to healthcare focused hedge fund.  The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in analyzing various segments and companies across the healthcare landscape.  The Analyst will possess superior analytical abilities, and command of the requisite tools, with an understanding of the operation of the financial markets.  Additionally, the person will have strong verbal and oral communication skills. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Develops and monitors the competitive landscape of the healthcare industry

·         Develops reports on specific segments within the healthcare industry to provide a framework for potential investment

·         Develops and maintains analysis of individual stocks and bonds through the development of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow modeling

·         Provides comparative value analysis of specific companies, healthcare segments or fixed income investments

·         Provides valuable input to equity offerings, valuations, private placements, mergers and acquisitions

• Communicates current events in respective industry groups and critical issues in the external environment
• Maintains files related to current valuations
• Maintains group databases and Weekly Status Reports
• Active participant in “buy” and “sell” discussions

The successful candidate will have the ability to:

• Gather information, identify linkages and trends and apply findings to reports
• Manage detail while maintaining a big picture orientation
• Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
• Analyze detailed corporate and financial information
• Create statistical exhibits that analyze comparative financial performance
• Build models to illustrate projected financial results and value to companies
• Communicate concepts and findings accurately and succinctly both orally and verbally

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field
• Understanding of the functioning of the equity and fixed income markets
• MBA preferred
• 5 years progressive experience in financial analysis and financial modeling
• Extensive experience with personal computers and related software including Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Access and Word
• Proven and demonstrable experience in financial modeling
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
